Since launching the Housing Capital Fund in 2022, SKHHP has committed $13.2 million to support the construction and preservation of affordable housing throughout South King County.

Mercy Housing NW – Burien Family HousingDrawing of the courtyard for the Burien Family Housing project a new construction rental project will create 90 one to four-bedroom units serving households earning 30-60% AMI. Of these, 38% are set aside for families exiting homelessness, and 10% for households with a physical disability.

SKHHP provided $3,093,308 over two funding rounds. The awards were collectively funded by Auburn, Burien, Covington, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Maple Valley, Normandy Park, Renton, and Tukwila.

 

Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) – Skyway Affordable HousingDrawing of the Skyway Affordable Housing project a new construction rental project will create 54 studio to three-bedroom units for households earning 30-50% AMI. A key feature of this project is the 75% set-aside for households transitioning out of homelessness. This development also includes a ground-floor early learning center, addressing both housing and childcare needs in the community.

SKHHP provided a $2,800,000 award for this project. The funding was a collaborative effort from the cities of Covington and Kent.

The project was awarded $500,000 by the City of Renton in 2024. SKHHP committed $1,820,850 in 2025. The award was collectively funded by the cities of Covington, Kent, and Maple Valley.

 

Drawing of 7 story African Diaspora Cultural Anchor VillageAfrican Community Housing & Development - African Diaspora Cultural Anchor Village a new construction rental project the will provide 129 studios to four-bedroom apartments for households earning between 30% and 60% AMI and include set-asides for families with children and individuals with a physical disability. The project is designed to serve as a cultural and residential hub for South King County's African Diaspora immigrant and refugee community.

SKHHP provided $1,200,000 in 2025. The awards were collectively funded by the cities of Covington, Kent, and Maple Valley.

 

Mercy Housing NW – Kent Multicultural VillageDrawing of the Kent Multicultural Village project a new construction rental project will create 231 one to four-bedroom units serving households earning 30-60% AMI. A notable feature of this development is the specific set-asides: 25% of the units for families with children, and 17% for households with a disability.

The project is located on surplus Sound Transit property at the future Kent Des Moines Link light rail station, representing a transit-oriented development model. The development is supported by a $1,000,000 award from SKHHP. The award was collectively funded by the cities of Covington and Kent.

Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas County – Burien Miller CreekDrawing of the forty townhomes that make up the Miller Creek project a new construction, 40-unit homeownership development. 20 of the units are designated for households at an average of 50% AMI, while the other 20 are for households up to 80% AMI.

SKHHP provided $855,000 over two funding rounds. The awards were collectively funded by Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Normandy Park, Renton, SeaTac, and Tukwila. Construction was completed in 2025.

 

Multi-Service Center – Victorian Place IIPhoto of Victorian Place II involved the rehabilitation of 20 three-bedroom units for households earning 35-50% AMI. The rehabilitation efforts ensure the building’s continued viability and ability to provide affordable housing options for low-income tenants.

SKHHP was the sole funder for this project, providing a $777,306 award. The award was collectively funded by the cities of Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Federal Way, Kent, Normandy Park, Renton, and Tukwila. Rehabilitation was completed in 2025.
